Lightbulb How to get in after locking keys in Scion XD

I'm posting this hoping it can save a Google searcher frustration!

If you lock your keys in the car and cannot call a lock-smith:
1) Do not "Slim Jim" through the bottom of the window. The car's locks are pretty sheltered and electric, so you risk really messing up the wiring and it would take a small miracle to actually access the trip.

2) Do not wedge the door and try to push the unlock button. I tried this for TWO HOURS and it did not work, even with direct vertical pressure with a slim jim on the center of the button--you cannot get enough force.

3) DO.. do do DO wedge the door (I used a flat plastic spatula, wedged around the weather strip and then slipped a bamboo spatula behind it and pulled), slip a straight wire with a small "L" shape on the end in there, and use the bottom of the "L" to PRESS THE MANUAL LOCK ATTACHED TO THE HANDLE. After 2 hours of trying to muscle the stiff automatic button, I unlocked the car on the first try using the manual lock. It was extremely easy.

Really hope this helps, and good luck!
