acura rsx or scion tc?

Im planning on purchasing a vehicle, but can not choose between two car. One is 2004 acura rsx base with 37k pricing 14k, how much you think we can talk the dealer down to? Other one is scion tc new 2010 base pricing 18.5k. I like scion tc because it's more style but rsx are good on mpg. Both are good car, one with honda engine and other with toyota engine. My brother in law brother owned an acura and said it got problem in the 100s, i know acura is not that bad, maybe its just his car.

Anyone can give advices?

You might be able to talk him down to 12k
I would choose the Acura because it is used with low miles
The scion will drop in value as soon as you drive off the lot to lower than what you will probably pay for the Acura. Additionally the Acura is more of a sports car while the Scion is more of a kid's car.

Oh and if you change the oil and keep up on maintenance, either car will last you long enough to get sick of it and sell it
