Can i put a bigger and more powerful engine in a scion tc?

I am probably going to get a preowned scion tc.and i want to put a new bigger and more powerful engine in the tc along with a new transmission to sustain the bigger engine. I want to know if that is possible and just about how much it would cost.Also any after market mods i can do to also increase the hp of the engine.
