my scion xa brake light comes on and off?

It's a 2004 and I bought it pre-owned but lately every time i do a turn, especially one exit ramps my brake light goes on and after a minute or two, it turns off. My brakes arent up so what could it be? I've had it for about over 2 years now with one car accident and another i hit my trashcan.

your brake fluid could be low, open hood and look back right corner
look for plastic cap and a clear reservoir, open cap and fill.
