Toyota's Scion tC has excellent short-term reliability; it is the only one of the above models that is on Consumer Reports' 2009 Most-Reliable list. See:

http://www.AutoOnInfo.net/NAEd200811BestandWorstCarsbyCR.htm .

However, both the Honda Civic EX and the Honda Civic Si have excellent long-term reliability histories. See:

So, I would likely go with the Honda Civic EX, in large part because of looks and engineering excellence and in small part because of its energy efficiency.

Scion. the civic is over rated, even si and slow. all extra options in si are standard in TC and is way cheaper and is a Toyota.

scion tc would be the best bet because for punch with ht elancer you would want to get the evo and that will be hell to insure i considered that
i would get the tc since you want a newer car
